What is your typical turnaround time?
This depends on word count and complexity. A typical 3,000-word document takes 2–3 working days. Urgent turnarounds are available — just let me know your deadline when requesting a quote.
Do you use machine translation?
I use professional CAT tools (Trados, MemoQ) with translation memories for consistency and efficiency. Every sentence is written or reviewed by me as a native Danish linguist. I do not deliver raw machine translation output.
What file formats do you accept?
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, XML, InDesign, and most software localisation formats. If you have an unusual format, just ask — I've worked with virtually everything over the past 20 years.
Can you handle large or ongoing projects?
Yes. I regularly handle projects of 30,000–80,000+ words and maintain long-term translation memories for clients with ongoing needs. This ensures terminology consistency across all your materials over time.
How do you charge?
I charge per source word. Rates depend on the subject area and complexity. Repetitions and fuzzy matches from translation memory are charged at reduced rates. You'll receive a clear breakdown with your quote.
Are you based in Denmark?
I'm a native Dane based in Ireland. I hold a BA in Danish Linguistics and a Postgraduate in Nordic Philology from the University of Copenhagen. Working outside Denmark actually gives me a useful perspective on how Danish reads to both Danish and international audiences.
